Phoronix Test Suite 3.8 Enhances Reporting Capabilities

Chicago, IL -- 19 March 2012 -- Phoronix Media is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Phoronix Test Suite 3.8.0 (codenamed "Bygland") as the major Q1'2012 update to the Phoronix Test Suite. The Phoronix Test Suite 3.8 release brings forth a number of new and innovative features to reinforce its position as the flagship choice for carrying out automated, open-source benchmarks under Linux, BSD, Solaris, and Mac OS X platforms.

Key features of Phoronix Test Suite 3.8 include enhanced -- and more verbose -- reporting of compiler configuration and build-time options for built-from-source test profiles, a new SVG graph renderer, download caching enhancements, support for Apple's Mac OS X 10.8 operating system, and many other features and improvements to existing features.

"We're extremely pleased with the outcome of the Phoronix Test Suite 3.8 development cycle," said Michael Larabel, the founder of Phoronix Media. "Phoronix Test Suite 3.8 brings forward many user-facing improvements that individuals and organizations should equally benefit from in improving their test processes and performance measurements. The features introduced in Bygland will continue to be further enhanced as we move forward with preparing Phoronix Test Suite 4.0 for introduction later this year."

Phoronix Test Suite 3.8 is licensed under the GNU GPLv3 and is available for free download at Phoronix-Test-Suite.com. Enterprise support for the Phoronix Test Suite 3.8 is available as well as deployable instances of Phoromatic and OpenBenchmarking.org via the Phoronix Test Suite commercial services.
